Osteopathy is a person-centered, holistic form of allied healthcare. It focuses on the relationship between the body’s structure (bones, muscles, organs) and function (alignment, mobility, digestion). We use a hands-on, manual approach to assess, diagnose, treat and prevent a wide range of health issues based on your presentation, medical history, lifestyle and overall well being. This can range from acute injuries and chronic conditions to preventative maintenance.
Osteopathy reinforces the body’s natural ability to heal itself, using manual techniques like joint mobilisation and articulation, gentle manipulation of the musculoskeletal, visceral and cranial systems, and assisted and passive stretching. Our objective is to reduce pain and muscular tension, improve joint mobility, and restore balance of structure and function within the body.
We consider each individual's unique needs to create a personalised management plan often consisting of exercise prescription, education and lifestyle advice to ‘take the treatment home with you’ and promote long-term results.
